MELTA

Born on 28.05.2004

Tercentenary? No!

Bicentenary? No!

Our child's 10 years of age...

Ten laborious winters,

Ten miraculous summers

Have been there on amateur stage...

How was it to start off?

In the very beginning,

Melting into the river

Just a handful of words...

Running over the desert

Of the great expectations

Towards the Garden of Eden

With ten thousand birds...

Oh sisters! My sisters!

(And occasional brothers!)

We have reached acquiescence,

The equator of life...

Equilibrium nostrum

No longer possesses

Youthful charm, youthful splendour

In the middle of strife...

Yet we gained something wiser,

Something strict and iconic,

Grip on things to be done,

Language — calm and laconic...

Trust of colleagues, traditions

And habitual glory.

And decline of ambitions...

What is more to the story?

ПОЛОЖЕНИЕ

О ФЕСТИВАЛЕ УСТНОГО РАССКАЗА НА АНГЛИЙСКОМ ЯЗЫКЕ

СРЕДИ УЧАЩИХСЯ 3-8-х КЛАССОВ

 2013 – 2014 учебный год

Тема Фестиваля:

Fortune and Fate

 Фестиваль состоится 15 февраля 2014 года. О месте проведения фестиваля будет сообщено позже.

Цель фестиваля:

Привлечь внимание к искусству устного рассказа, популяризировать устное творчество среди учащихся начального и среднего этапа для развития их коммуникативной компетенции и повышения уровня свободного владения английским языком.

Участники фестиваля:

Учащиеся средних школ 3 – 8 классов, составляющие 3 возрастные группы: 3-4 классы, 5-6 классы, 7-8 классы.

Школы Москвы и Московской области проводят отборочные туры.

На городской фестиваль школа направляет не более 5 лучших рассказчиков.

Учителя являются членами MELTA (Ассоциации учителей и преподавателей английского языка Москвы и Московской области) http://elt-moscow.ru/join-us/ 

Конкурсная программа фестиваля:

Рассказ собственного сочинения (история, сказка, легенда, миф, притча, басня) на тему фестиваля.

 Продолжительность исполнения: до 3 минут.

 Критерии оценки:

1.      Соответствие теме и жанру.

2.      Выразительность, эмоциональное вовлечение слушателей

3.      Артистичность, адекватное использование голоса, мимики и жестов для раскрытия образа

4.      Грамотность речи.

5.      Своеобразие сочинения и исполнения.

Оргкомитет Фестиваля включает членов координационного совета МЕЛТА.

Оргкомитет

— устанавливает время и место проведения

— определяет состав жюри

— утверждает список победителей и призёров фестиваля

— награждает победителей, вручает грамоты и призы

— анализирует итоги

— готовит материалы для освещения в средствах массовой информации

Награждение лауреатов

Лауреаты каждой номинации определяются по сумме баллов, выставленных Жюри в соответствие с каждой из 3-х возрастных категорий: 3-4 классы, 5-6 классы, 7-8 классы и награждаются грамотами и призами от учредителей ассоциации и книжных издательств.

Учителя, подготовившие победителей, отмечаются благодарственными грамотами МЕЛТА и ценными подарками.

Оргкомитет оставляет за собой право учреждать дополнительные номинации и награды.

Using the Engage, Study, Activate Format in Designing EFL Lesson Plans

Tuesday, November 12 (MELTA event at the Publishing House The 1^st of September 16:00 – 18:00)

The presenter will begin by leading a discussion that illustrates each step of this effective model for arousing interest in learning the language skills and for putting that knowledge to use in authentic exchanges of opinions, thoughts, feelings and ideas.  Audience members then will participate in two demonstration lessons that exemplify this format.  The ultimate aim is for teachers to come away with fresh ideas on how to get students willingly involved in their language learning for authentic communication purposes. This seminar will cast light on the new topics for MELTA Festivals 2013—2014 

Using the Themes of Christmas and New Years as the Basis for Communication Development

Tuesday, December 17 (MELTA event at the Publishing House The 1^st of September 16:00 – 18:00)

In this presentation, attendees will participate in a variety of information gap activities designed to give language learners opportunities to develop communication strategies such as negotiating for meaning, using gestures, dealing with uncertainty and retrieving linguistic knowledge. ince the holidays are just around the corner, these highly interactive tasks will be based on the themes of Christmas and New Years      

MELTA Council Board has succefully met on October 22 2013 at newspaper English Editorial office  to prolong functions of our current president Prof Viktoriya Oshchepkova and to plan the 10th year jubilee activities, MELTA festivals, and the highlight to be - 3rd MELTA International Conference on Sep 26-27 2014.

On October 29 we are expecting our new EFL Fellow Erik Lundell to share his plans for the coming year in Moscow and Moscow Region for which MELTA is ready to give its full support.
