Teaching Grammar from Controlled to Open-ended Practice

Teaching Vocabulary (Wednesday, February 12 )
In this workshop, attendees will begin with a discussion on what it means to “know” a word. Also, ideas on how to decide what vocabulary should be taught will be generated followed by descriptions on how it can be effectively learned. The remainder of the presentation will be dedicated to the demonstration of tasks that involve students in the learning of vocabulary in highly personalized and motivating ways.
