Developing Speaking Strategies in the EFL Classroom In this presentation, participants will engage in a demonstration on how dialogues can be used to train language learners to become more independent communicators.  In addition, a series of information-gap tasks and evaluation tools will be offered so that teachers can return to the classroom equipped with practical classroom applications that lead students toward becoming competent communicators in a second language.

Writing for Creative Expression In this workshop, the presenter will engage participants in a number of writing tasks that allow learners to express their creativity.  The aim is to offer teachers ideas on how to motivate students to practice meaningful writing in a variety of ways.  Demonstration tasks will include writing poetry on topics that are relevant to the students, writing collaboratively and writing for grammar and vocabulary development.
