Impressions of 13th Pedagogical Marathon in Moscow

Марафон2014_1

I was lucky last Sunday to attend the English Language Day at the 13th Pedagogical Marathon held at Moscow State Pedagogical University (MSPU). I should say that the event pleasantly surprised me in many ways.
Firstly, I was impressed by the beautiful and spacious main building of the MSPU. It was the first time I had been inside this building and couldn’t fail to feel historical and educational significance of the place. The organization of the event was also of high level: it was very easy to find your way around the venue thanks to the large number of notices; there were two café areas, and the sponsors’ stands were arranged in a way that prevented overcrowding. E-merging Forum-4: through the eyes of participants

e-merging -4E-merging Forum-4 in Moscow was already 3 weeks ago. And though time flies really fast and new events are coming up our way overshadowing past events, it’s always nice to look back at some of the best moments and re-live them once again. Below are the reviews of the E-merging Forum kindly provided by some of the participants and delegates. I hope you will enjoy the reading and remembering your experience at the Forum. I also hope that those teachers and educators who couldn’t make it to the Forum-4, will get their appetite whetted and will do their best to come to the E-merging Forum-5 next year!

T2T Workshops with Eric Lundell at AMC

DSCF7639 Making the Most of Your Textbooks (April 9)
In this ninety minute workshop the attendees will discuss how teachers can use textbooks by omitting, supplementing, and adapting.  The presenter will demonstrate a variety of techniques that exemplify these strategies for enhancing grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and other language skills instruction.  The aim is to provide language teachers with ideas on how they can use the materials they have to create motivating and meaningful language learning experiences.

 Content Based Instruction (April 16)

The presenter will use the topic of geography to demonstrate how both language and content can be taught simultaneously.  A discussion about the principles and benefits of this method will follow.  Participants will come away with ideas on how to make language learning meaningful through the teaching of a variety of content areas.

Both workshops will take place at 4.30 at the American Centre on the 3rd floor of the All-Russia State Library For Foreign Literture, Nikoloyamskaya, 1
