2013 – 2014 учебный год
Фестиваль состоится 15 марта 2014 года. О месте проведения фестиваля будет сообщено позже.
Цели и задачи конкурса:
Конкурс ораторского мастерства Московской ассоциации преподавателей английского языка (MELTA) ставит своей целью повышение общего уровня свободного владения английским языком среди московских школьников и студентов (прежде всего – в области ораторского искусства), развитие навыков и устной речи, умения слушать и понимать устную речь, повышение уровня духовного потенциала и эрудиции, поощрение личностного начала и внутренней свободы в ребенке и Человеке. “Building a Community for All: How a non-disabled person from Chicago became an advocate for persons with disabilities in Russia."
By Denise Roza, Founder and Director of the Disability NGO Perspektiva (http://perspektiva-inva.ru/) and Director of Best Buddies Russia (http://www.bestbuddies.ru/), who will tell of her life story coming to Moscow and founding and working here with people with disabilities.

Teaching Communicative Strategies — 25 Feb 2014
In this presentation, participants will engage in a demonstration on how dialogues can be used to train language learners to become more independent communicators. In addition, a series of information-gap tasks and evaluation tools will be offered so that teachers can return to the classroom equipped with practical classroom applications that lead students toward becoming competent communicators in a second language.

Making the Most of Your Textbooks — 18 March 2014
In this ninety minute workshop the attendees will discuss how teachers can use textbooks by omitting, supplementing, and adapting. The presenter will demonstrate a variety of techniques that exemplify these strategies for enhancing grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and other language skills instruction... The aim is to provide language teachers with ideas on how they can use the materials they have to create motivating and meaningful language learning experiences.

Integrating Language Skills — 15 April 2014
The focus of this workshop is the development of communicative competence through the integration of language skills in social interaction. The presenter will begin by outlining a list of the primary and sub-skills of communication and the benefits of integrating such skills in language lessons. A number of interactive demonstrations will follow to allow participants the opportunity to experience such practices. The goal is to generate ideas and creativity that will lead to more meaningful language learning opportunities for students.
